Freshworks to Join S&P SmallCap 600 Index on Oct. 8
Freshworks will replace BioLife Solutions in the S&P SmallCap 600, effective before trading opens October 8.
Freshworks Inc. is set to enter the S&P SmallCap 600 index when markets open Thursday, October 8, replacing BioLife Solutions Inc., which is being acquired by S&P MidCap 400 member Repligen Corp., according to an announcement dated October 5, 2026.
Index changes of this kind are typically triggered when a current constituent is removed due to a merger or acquisition, prompting index managers to select a replacement that meets eligibility criteria for market capitalization, liquidity, and financial viability. Freshworks, a cloud-based customer experience and IT software company traded on the Nasdaq under the ticker FRSH, fits the profile for SmallCap 600 inclusion.

BioLife Solutions, which trades under the ticker BLFS, will exit the SmallCap 600 as a result of Repligen's acquisition. Repligen, listed under RGEN, is a current component of the S&P MidCap 400, a separate tier in the S&P family of U.S. equity benchmarks.
Inclusion in an S&P index often draws increased investor attention because index-tracking funds are required to purchase shares of newly added companies, which can temporarily affect trading volume and share price dynamics around the effective date.
