Kraken's Payward, Singapore Gulf Bank Launch 24/7 Institutional Settlement
Payward integrates SGB Net for round-the-clock clearing in Asia and Gulf markets, while Singapore Gulf Bank adds Kraken Prime as a liquidity source.
Payward, the entity behind the Kraken exchange, has partnered with Singapore Gulf Bank to bring real-time, around-the-clock settlement capabilities to institutional digital asset markets across Asia and the Gulf region, the companies announced Friday.
The integration centers on SGB Net, Singapore Gulf Bank's proprietary real-time clearing network, which allows institutional clients to finalize transactions at any hour rather than being constrained by traditional banking windows. The arrangement addresses a longstanding friction point in crypto markets, where trading operates continuously but settlement infrastructure has historically lagged behind.

As part of the broader agreement, Singapore Gulf Bank will also onboard Kraken Prime — Kraken's institutional brokerage arm — as an additional source of digital asset liquidity. That move is designed to deepen the pool of assets available through SGB Net and strengthen execution quality for the bank's institutional clientele in both regions.
The partnership reflects a wider industry push to close the gap between crypto-native trading and institutional-grade financial infrastructure. By anchoring round-the-clock settlement to a licensed banking partner, Payward is positioning Kraken Prime to compete more directly for mandates from asset managers, hedge funds, and corporate treasuries that require bank-quality counterparty frameworks alongside digital asset access.
